E-mail Your Members of Congress
It is always helpful for you to contact your members of Congress
and inform them of the benefits that the E-rate has brought to your
local community. You can find your Congressional Representative and
Senators on the U.S. House and
U.S. Senate websites.
Contact the FCC
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has oversight of the
E-Rate program. You should contact the FCC if you want to share the
impact of the E-rate with them, or if you have suggestions on how to

Tell The Media
One of the most important ways you can influence political support
for the E-rate program is by talking to members of your local media.
Invite local newspaper or television reporters to look at how you've
been able to improve teaching and learning in your school or the
services you have been able to provide in your library thanks to the
E-rate. If a story is written or aired, make sure to get a
copy of the story and send it to your Congressional Representative
and Senators, thanking them for their support of the program and
explaining how important the E-rate is to your school or library.
